Alan will tell you that Life is not just about work, rather all about what you actively do to improve the world we live in. A major part of his non-income producing life is leading an effort to eliminate puppy mills and the cruelty they deliver. To that end he works with Best Friends Animal Society, The Humane Society of the United States, along with numerous New Jersey based politicians to pass ordinances that eliminates the sale of puppy mill bred puppies and kittens. To date he has been responsible for the passage in New Jersey of over 110 local ordinances and the closing of numerous puppy mill supplied pet stores in the state. Alan was recognized for his work being awarded the 2017 Camden County Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal for leading the effort to have municipalities in New Jersey restrict the sale of dogs from puppy mills.
